Meet the staff

Steve Bishop, IDC Staff Instructor
Steve has been diving since 1974 and is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and IDC Staff Instructor, teaching many
specialties including Enriched Air, Deep Diving, Wreck Diving, Dry Suit,
Underwater Video and Ice Diving. Steve is also an Emergency First Response and
CPR instructor.
Steve has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and leads trips to many destinations including Roatan and St. Croix.

Les Fulton, Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Les started diving in 1965 and is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer as well as our main equipment repair technician with over 15 years experience.
Les also teaches Multilevel Diver, Dry Suit, Underwater Photography, Underwater Naturalist,
Underwater Navigation and Ice Diving as well as the Equipment Repair specialties.
Les is particularly knowledgeable about the Caribbean islands, especially
Bonaire.

Jim Lancaster, IDC Staff Instructor
Jim has been diving since 1972 and is a Master Scuba Diver Trainer and IDC Staff Instructor, and is certified as a Wreck Diver, Enriched
Air Diver, holds a Cavern Diver certification and is working towards Cave
Diver certification. Jim currently teaches several specialties, as
well as having extensive knowledge of the South Pacific and Indonesian
islands like Truk, Palau and Bali.

John Nowack, Instructor
John has been diving since 1999, was certified as a Divemaster
in 2005, and became an Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2008.
John also teaches the Enriched Air, Dry Suit, Wreck, Deep
Diver and EFR courses.
His favorite dive locations
are the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Bull Shoals, Haigh Quarry,
and most any place there's water.

George Brown, Instructor
George started diving in 1975, when he was 17 years old.
Beginning in 2000, he began pursuing advanced PADI certifications and
achieved the rank of PADI Master Scuba Diver. In 2007 he became a PADI
Divemaster, and in 2008 became an Open Water Scuba Instructor. George
currently holds specialty certifications in Wreck Diving, Deep Diving,
Night Diving, Enriched Air Diving as well as Equipment Specialist, Rescue
Diver and is also an EFR instructor.

Jim (J.R.) Winkler, Assistant Instructor
J.R. was originally certified in 1970. After a long lay off, he got back
into diving and now holds a number of specialty certifications including
Nitrox, Dry Suit, Rescue, EFR and Underwater Video. In 2008 J.R. achieved the rank of PADI Master Scuba Diver, followed quickly by his Divemaster and EFR Instructor ratings and in 2010 became an Assistant Instructor. He is also very interested in
underwater photography both still and video. His favorite dive sites are in
Haigh Quarry, Bonaire, the Keys and the Living Seas in EPCOT.

In Memorium
Ron Richardson Sr., Assistant Instructor
Sept. 24, 1952 - Nov. 12, 2009
Ron was first certified in 1997 and became an Assistant Instructor
in 2000. Ron was a valued member of Deep Blue's staff since its inception
in 2005, and was able to share his love of scuba diving and the underwater world with many people.
He will be sorely missed by those fortunate enough to have have known him.

Greg Dirks, Divemaster
Greg started diving in 1995 and was certified as a Dive Master in 2000. He currently holds cards in equipment specialist, rescue, dry suit, and nitrox. Greg has been to Cayman Brac, Roatan, Cozumel, Bonaire, and Florida Keys.

Mike Sluga, Divemaster
Mike started diving in 2001 and was certified as a divemaster
in 2006. He currently holds cards in Equipment Specialist, Rescue,
Emergency First Responder, and Nitrox. Mike has been diving in the
Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Caymans, Cozumel, St. Thomas, St. Johns,
Hawaii, Florida, and his favorite spot--Bonaire
